Double-clicking on a file opens it via the system. On mac, double
clicking a text or html files open them with the default program, ie.
TexEdit and Safari.

thanks Dan for your reaction.

i'm afraid i don't understand what you mean.

in a patch there's no way to double-click on a filename 'directly'.
i assume that to open a file it's necessary to send some kind of message to pd.

like, to open a Pd patch one can send this [; pd open file path( .

hi,

in the helpbrowser it is possible to open files,
like introduction.txt or index.htm, "outside" Pd.

is it possible to use this functionality inside a patch;
like with a message to pd?
(without using an external lib).

the documentation for (my) patches is sometimes too extensive
to use the Pd comment.
