which backslash problem? afaict, windows accepts forward-slashes as path-delimiters just fine. at least cmd.exe does. i always thought that the forwardslash->backslash translation was handled transparently in the libc implementation (and microsoft just kept using backslash in any publicly facing paths for the sake of being microsoft), but given the quirks in w32 it might as well be that cmd.exe does the translation. fgasdrm, IOhannes
