I have used SimpleSynth for this for many years. Just pipe Pd's output to it 
via an IAC bus.

He hasn't updated it for quite a while and it no longer runs on macOS 10.15, 
but the source code is on Github. I actually updated his other app for 64-bit & 
modern OS's, MIDIPatchbay, so maybe we should just bug him for SimpleSynth.
