No, no dragging would need to be required. A script can mount the dmg, then
copy the contents from the mount location, typically: /Volumes/pdextern-1.2.3/
Something like:
mkdir ~/Documents/Pd/externals/pdextern-1.2.3/
hdituil mount pdextern-1.2.3.dmg
cp -R /Volumes/pdextern-1.2.3/* ~/Documents/Pd/externals/pdextern-1.2.3/
hdiutil unmount /Volumes/pdextern-1.2.3
It's a couple more steps than unzipping a zip file, but results in the same
thing.
The important part is that the dmg needs to have its volume name set the same
as the filename since the volume name is used when mounting.
