I worked on a patch using the latest Gem version on my older 64b laptop, and
everything was going well - windows10, 64b vanilla Pd.
with "latest Gem", you mean "0.94-ga7888272"?
the one I downloaded from deken, yes.
I tried now opening it on my desktop on windows 11 (same Pd version), but Gem
doesn't load. The error I get is this:
Der Prozedureinsprungpunkt "DllMain" wurde in der DLL [my local Gem
path]\libharfbuzz-0.w64 nicht gefunden.
can you confirm that the file "libharfbuzz-0.w64" does exist in the Gem
directory?
yes, both 32+64 versions are there.
I searched on the list and for other versions of the libharfbuzz-0.w64 file
online, but couldn't find any.
ah well, the file is usually named "libharfbuzz-0.dll", but we rename it to
"libharfbuzz-0.w64" so we can also have the 32bit variant in the deken package (which is named
"libharfbuzz-0.w32")
that was a good hint. I downloaded the dll from harfbuzz git place and
replaced it. Now it doesn't complain about it, but Gem still doesn't
load, 2 errors are found:
xxxx\Gem\Gem.m_amd64: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden. [the
file is there]

I can do that later. Are the new errors also part of the same report, or
separate reports is better?
Fyi - everything works on Pd32b in the same computer.
