It’s not about the individuals. It’s about the organization and safeguarding it.

There’s not much we can do this election.

Other than choose to only vote for one, not both or vote for neither.

Subject: Re: [PDB Gov] Risk of excessive DE-CIX influence on PeeringDB

I don't see a conflict here. Both candidates have been invested in PeeringDB &
the internet community in general for a very long time. Declaring conflict &
letting the voters choose would be a logical choice here.

Although if something pertaining to DE-CIX comes for PDB board review, there is
an exemption of both directors to prevent influence. This is already laid out
in
Conflict<https://docs.peeringdb.com/gov/legaldocs/2015-12-08_PeeringDB_Conflict_of_Interest_Policy.pdf>
 of Interest
policy<https://docs.peeringdb.com/gov/legaldocs/2015-12-08_PeeringDB_Conflict_of_Interest_Policy.pdf>
which seems good enough for this case.

Without restarting it completely, the election process conducted by
PeeringDB can't really be altered while it is underway.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for this precision, brother.

That said, if neither you nor Arnold will withdraw from this election, one
or both of you could make a public commitment

Please can you explain what's the rule you are
invoking while *likely* imposing this?

that if both elected, one of you will not accept the election and thus defer to
the next ranked choice
candidate.

One should be free to do this.

Are you Yolandi willing to make that commitment?

Is Arnold?

...no unneeded pressure, please!

Shalom,
