Sounds like the color management in distiller is turned on, but it can't
find the profile that you have selected. Unless for some reason you need
the color management turn on, I would just go to the Job Options Menu/Color
Tab and turn the color management off by switching it to "Leave Color
Unchanged". If you don't know anything about color management then you
don't want to be turning this on anyway. The only reason that I can see
you might want to be turning this on is if you are sending these pdf files
to a printer, and even then you may not want to turn this on especially if
the printer did not ask you to. That is what is color management profile
is referring to is SWOP Standards for a web printing press that is printing
you piece on a coated stock.
If you do need this color profile then you may want to reinstall distiller,
or at least go back to the Installer CD and see if you can drag this
profile from it and place it where it goes within distiller.
Just an FYI for any of you guys out there that are trying to create PDF's
for Printing Purposes, if you have any questions about your settings in
distiller you really should call and speak to your printer they should help
you out free of charge. We give all of our prepress partners tools to help
them create a better pdf for us, and also pull the job options out of
distiller to send to them so that we know they are making the PDF correctly
- well as long as they don't change them.

Hi,
I have the Mac version of Acrobat 5.
When I try to make a PDF from a .ps file I get the following log file.
---
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: setdistillerparams;
ErrorInfo: CalCMYKProfile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
Error accessing color profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
---
Not sure what it means, or what to do.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike
