Hello,

I am new both to this list and to creating PDF files. I have been looking for some help, without success, on what I thought would be some basic tasks. I have sent e-mails to Adobe and I've tried calling them. Adobe has not responded to my e-mails and I gave up after being on hold for a very long time when I called.

I have several forms that I originally created in MS Excel and have recently converted to PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0. That part went smoothly enough. I sell my forms to home inspectors to use either in the field on a notebook or laptop or in the office on a desktop PC. The PDF versions look far nicer and are much easier to use than the Excel versions. So, here are my problems and questions:

1. My reports sell in the $10-$50 price range. My customers are not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a program to allow them to fill in the forms. Most of my customers already have MS Excel so that hasn't been too much of a problem but very few (if any) have a PDF writer/editor. Version 6 of the Acrobat Reader allows filling in forms but the information cannot be saved with the forms. Do any of you know of an easy and inexpensive way for a user of my forms to be able to view the forms, fill them in, print, and save them?

2. Assuming I can get past my first hurdle, do any of you know of a way to put these forms on a Pocket PC? Again, the users need to be able to fill in the form, print, and save. I do not have a Pocket PC (yet) but I have tested Acrobat Reaer 6 for Pocket PC and it does not even allow filling in of the forms. I don't know of any way to load the full version of Acrobat Pro onto a Pocket PC. If there is a forms program for Pocket PC out there I haven't been able to find it.

3. My last question is, do any of you do any programming for hire and would be interested in working with me on developing a report that could be used on Pocket PC or laptop. If so, it would not necessarily have to be in PDF format. I would also eventually like to have the ability to record the form data to a database.

By the way, my main report form is eleven pages. The other forms are one to four pages each.

Anyone interested in doing some programming for me may call me at 419-885-2631 or send an e-mail to me with you phone number and I'll call you.

Thanks!
