Well, that's more than I've tried to do in Acrobat.  Usually I try to do
that kind of numeration in the original    document(s) so maybe someone
else in the list can give you more info.

Yes, I see how that works in the left-hand section when viewing the
document.  
I need to put a "page number" on the document itself.  How do I get the

number to appear on the document as a NEW field AFTER it's been created
