Hi Mike I had initially thought that it was down to finger trouble but on re-reading your Email I wonder if your PC has been set up for multiple users? Perhaps on a network? If so then do you have administrative rights to install programs? It's a bit of a stab in the dark but you are not doing anything wrong in expecting Acrobat to produce pdf's as described - mine does so. Another track might be to try the Adobe.com to see if the 'problem' has been flagged previously. Sorry I can't be a little more specific.
