The official Adobe answer is that you should/must not have more than one instance of Acrobat of any kind running on your machine.
However, if you install from older to newer, and be aware of what can happen, you can have various versions available. Uninstalling means going from newer to older.
This is assuming that you are on Windoof; on OSX, you have no problems at all anyway.
The problem with Windows is the registry, where the same entry might have different meaning for the different Acrobats, and things might get confused.
Also, if you have to do serious support, you should have an environment as close to your customer's environment as possible. And having a multiple-Acrobat installation is not quite "standard".
Probably the best you can do is getting VMWare or VirtualPC and set up different virtual machines. Then you have a "Reader 4-only" environment etc...
Hope, this can help.

I would like to know what you suggest to install more than one version of the Acrobat Reader parallel on the same computer.
For I am in charge of producing electronic forms (PDF) by using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional, I want to test them by Acrobat Reader v. 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0.
From the technical support of Adobe Systems I learnt that they do not recommend the installation of more than one version. - Would it be useful to install the different versions on separate partitions? Or are there any other tricks?
Thank you very much!
