Hi,
I checked it. It was set at 2. However, it looks as if that was the cause anyway. If I go back to the runaround settings in Quark, increase the noise and smoothness to 5, the problem seems to disappear. I did several test runs last night at screen and press resolutions. They all distilled in seconds flat with no PS errors. So your tip was correct. Just needed a less stringent path for Quark to follow. Thank you so much. It's a lifesaver.
