I may be wrong, but I'm thinkin' the key phrase here is, "Certain users with both Reader 4 and 5 have problems with the document." Saving a file to be "compatible" with a previous version of the program is in no way a guarantee that the file will work exactly as expected in all possible circumstances. I have a hunch that if your users would upgrade to FREE Reader 6, their troubles with the files would somehow miraculously disappear. This is just one man's opinion of course. ~James Opinions expressed can be hazardous to your health. __________________________________________________________________ From: Kathy Harford I have a 74 page document, created with Adobe 6.01 Professional. I set it to be compatible with Reader 4.0 and later. I've created bookmarks for the document, and verified that they are pointing to the correct pages. It all works fine on my machine. Certain users with both Reader 4 and 5 have problems with the document. When they click on a bookmark, it sometimes takes them to the correct page (the first time), then any other bookmark they click on takes them to a different page than requested. The user is unable to scroll back in the document manually earlier than the first page viewed. After a few clicks they get (usually) get an error stating "There is a problem reading this document (14)". I can't find any references to the error message, and I have recreated the document and bookmarks several times. Any ideas for me?
