All, I have uncovered some interesting behavior during index builds/re-builds in Acrobat 5 with Win 98... If I use the following menu options, I can build a new index within catalog successfully: Tools --> Catalog --> New Index (add directories and index title) --> Save As (save as index name) --> Open Index (select new index created) --> Build However, if I use the following sequence...: Tools --> Catalog --> New Index (add directories and index title) --> Save As (save as index name) --> CLOSE ACROBAT --> DOUBLE-CLICK ON CREATED INDEX --> Build... The index does not automatically begin building. In order for the index build to run, I have to move my mouse! When I move the mouse, the index starts to build! If I stop moving my mouse, the index stops building! This "feature" occurs if the build is local or on a mapped drive. I've also encountered the same "feature" re-building existing indexes. I did not experience the same problems in Acrobat 4 under the same use conditions. Could someone let me know if they can duplicate this "feature"? Thanks.
