Probably your best bet would be to create a list of the available files (in a list box or just as a text list on a PDF page). You could then create open file links to those documents.

An alternative could be to create an autorun front end, using Demoshield or Autoplay Media Studio, which would give the same function. With these tools I think you can browse a folder on your CD as well.

Subject: [PDF] open an external directory?

Hi,

This should be a simple function for me to figure out but I am having a difficult time with it. I am creating a PDF interface menu that allows a user to click a button or link and open certain PDF files that I have created. The issue that I am having a problem with is that I need to create a button or link that will open in a new window a particular directory, which contains a number of different files. Thus allowing the user to see that particular directory contents and make their choices. What would I need to do in order to create this? Seems like it should be an easy thing to figure out. Any help would be appreciated. I am using both Acrobat 4 and 5.
