While I have reading the list for a while, this is first significant project which could use Acrobat/ PDF Tools. I have been asked to make an updateable lab manual for significant projects (final year and postgraduate) so they can use our facilities easily. I have images: some 24 bit RGB and some 8 nit palleted; a powerpoint document which is just to be used for its images and word and excel documents. My own computer is unfortunately WinNT 4 with Word 97, Similar versions Excel, Powerpoint.Pentium 300. I have access to Acrobat 5 on a Win98 Computer. We may be obtaining use of Acrobat 6. I am trying to persuade my boss that PDF is good format for size and simplicity of control (compared to Word) and occasional updating can be done free or very cheaply.
