My guess is, that your page is set up incorrectly in Illustrator. You have set up the Artboard with specific dimentions, but the page does not match the Artbord.

In Illustrator, choose File > Print Setup, and make sure your Paper Size and Orientation are correct. You may also need to adjust the page boundaries with the page tool: Select the Page tool (under the Hand tool) and either click-and-drag on the Artboard to set the boundary or double-click the tool in the toolbox.

Then give it another try. I hope this helps!
