Are you sure that the problem is with MM fonts? What error message is Distiller returning to you when the distillation fails? I also am very leery of using Quark to place PDf files into. I have always found Quarks PDF filter to be problematic. One way to rule out Quark is to resave the PDF you get as postscript out of Acrobat and then distill the resulting PS flie. I have found in many instances that Quark can be the problem in regards to PDF files rather than the solution. Just a thought on another avenue you might approach the problem from. I personally have had minimal problems with multiple master fonts, but many problems with Quarks PDF filter since it is a level one filter and most people are preparing level 2 and 3 type files.
