That is correct, it can not. However Adobe has said they plan to deliver a solution based on Apple's Safari browser.
This has infuriated people who need to fill in forms etc in a browser window.
Why do you need to do that? Adobe Reader 6 can now submit forms from outside the browser - so there isn't any need to have it embedded any longer!!
