Yup, someone mentioned before that it works ok in netscape. And nope,
you're not missing anything, it won't work in IE while on a local drive
or
CD. Don't know of any workarounds to make it work in IE. Sorry.

Subject: [PDF] Named Destinations issue

Sorry if this has been discussed to death, I've done a search in this
list and on Adobe's site, and haven't seen an answer.

I intend to have a collection of PDFs on a CD-ROM, all linked from an
html index page.
Right now this collection is on my hard drive.
When I make a hyperlink with a named destination, it fails in Internet
Explorer. It will not even open the PDF at all. It works fine in
Netscape.

If I transfer the collection to our Web server and then try the
hyperlink to the named destination it works in both IE and Netscape.

So it seems that a hyperlink to a PDF containing a named destination
will only work in IE if the pages are on a Web server, not on your hard
drive (and thus presumably not on a CD-ROM).

Is this true? If not what am I missing? Known issue? If so is there a
workaround?

Note, I am using Adobe Acrobat 5.05 and testing in IE 6.0 Netscape 6.0
Thanks
