We use Acrobat (WIN)6's PDF Optimizer feature to make version
6 PDF's compatible with some of the older elements of our workflow. From time to
time this results in embedded fonts being removed from our PDF's. I know
that I can go to the PDF Optimizer->Fonts tab and remove all the fonts
from the unembed list but ideally I would like to prevent the unembed list from
being populated in the first place. Can anyone provide answers to the following
questions about font unembedding in PDF Optimizer?
1) How does Acrobat determine which fonts to
unembed? My first guess was that it was removing fonts that are available to the
OS on the workstation but that doesn't seem to be the case.
2) Is there a way to disable the unembed feature to prevent
PDF Optimizer from ever removing fonts from our PDF's?
Best Regards,
Marcel
