It appears the major problem is that
the imported images are 72 dpi (screenshots).
It's not a problem, it's a constrain.
So the old adage, trash in trash out applies, methinks.

I suggested she use higher resolution to
start with
Screenshots are always 72/96 dpi.
and not to jpeg, but tiffs/eps to import into MSF Word.
Sure, quality will be better.
