The PDF list is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com

In Acrobat: Choose Edit > Search > Select Indexes to list the currently
available indexes and to add or delete indexes...

In the dialog, click "Info..." to see where the physical index files
live (if you don't know yet that is) and you can delete those index
files.

If you need to un-associate multiple files from the index, I'm not sure
that you can do that in a batch process. I haven't used the index
feature in awhile.

Does anyone know how to remove an index from a file that has had an
index
associated with it? We have a project in which we built an index and
associated all the files with it, but the search didn't work. The person

who did the index then deleted the old index file and rebuilt a new one,

which didn't work. We restored the old (deleted) index file to the
server
and then tried to purge and rebuild it. No luck. We don't know how to
UN-associate the screwed-up indexes now to try to do a clean build of a
new
index. Any index we try to build now will not find words that we know
are
in the files. Other than restoring our files from backups before the
indexing was done and starting all over, is there any way to get rid of
an
index and start anew after files have had an index associated with them?
We
need to catalog them for a CD-ROM project, and hope not to lose a couple
of
days' work to redo them.
