HI
I have created a pdf file from a Word file, nothing fancy just a straightforward text document. The author wants the pdf on our web site, no problem he also want links from this pdf going to other pdfs and pages on the same web site. I have added links to the pdf, the usual way - using the link tool, and again this is no problem. When I open the pdf on the web site and click on a link they work fine and take me to the correct location, however when other people try the same links all they get is a comments box that opens with my name in the top of box. The only difference between people that can open links and those who can't is those who can have Adobe Acrobat installed, whilst those who cant open the links only have versions of Acrobat Reader 4 or 5. Is this the problem, can you only view links if you have Adobe Acrobat installed on your PC OR is there another problem.
I use Adobe Acrobat version 5, Windows 2000 and upload to our web site.
Regards Lewis.

I betcha these links are pointing to your local hard drive, rather than a legitimate qualified URL. That would explain why you can open it, and others can't.

Just use World for the URLs. Using the PDF macro in Word should preserve fully qualified URLs, when going from MSFT Word to PDF. No need to do the URLs in Acrobat.
