Why not set up two watched folders for Distiller, one that has job options to create press ready pdf's and the other to create screen quality pdfs. When you create the watched folder, you can select the job options used for that folder.
You could start the process by saving the .ps file in a folder that has a folder action that makes a copy of the .ps file in each of the watched folders. You could also set up a folder action for the Distiller out folders that renames the file by adding the appropriate suffix.
