Thanks very much. This seems to have taken care of it!

Have you tried setting the document to open in full screen view when it
opens? That worked for us.

Hello List,

We have a web application that allows users to order items like stationary.

A user will select the template they want to use, and then they are
presented with a page with 2 frames. One frame contains the data fields
for the information they want to display, the other frame contains a pdf
for a soft proof. The space where the PDF opens is static. When the
information in the data fields are updated, the page reloads and the proof
is updated.

We have the pdf set to not display toolbars or file menu. This works fine if someone has Reader (6) or the full version of Acrobat 6.

One problem we are seeing has to do with users running Windows (it appears
to be on at least NT & XP). If the user has the full version of Acrobat 5,
the pdf opens, but the plugin displays the toolbars. The toolbars take up
about 60% of the frame and the pdf is too small to read.

If the user manually hides the toolbars, the pdf will display the correct
size, but if they then update the text in the data fields, on the reload of
the page, the toolbars are redisplayed.

I have tried loading Reader 6 on a machine with the full version of Acrobat
5. I tried to change my file associations to set reader 6 as my default
for opening pdf files. The plugin for 5 is what is loaded each time.

Some of the users may not want to uninstall their full version of Acrobat 5
and may not want to upgrade to Acrobat 6, so I need a solution that does
not involve either of these solutions.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to:
1) Load Reader over the full version of Acrobat 5 so that Reader will be
used for the browser plugin
2) Cause the toolbars to not be displayed in the plugin for Acrobat 5

Thanks,
Jeff
