Does anyone know what the situation is with this? I presume it still does not exist.
Adobe has not yet released an update for Acrobat that enables viewing in browser.
Does anyone know why? Technical limitation or political decision?
As has been discussed on this board in teh past, the reasons are ENTIRELY technical.
First, Apple broke the method used in Mac OS 9 for Acrobat to integrate into the browser. Then, when Adobe had it all working under Mac OS X with Netscape and IE - Apple releases Safari, which doesn't follow the rules of the past and therefore breaks them again. Unfortunately, Safari has been a moving target for the Acrobat team in order to ensure compatibility.
