Resolution: Fixed
I've found a work around for your problem. You have to deactivate the clipping
operators (see PageDrawer.properties in the Resources directory) and everything
works fine. Obviously the added formular text is somehow overwritten, if
clipping is active.
Because of some other sideffects I've created a new issue (PDFBOX-483) for the
clipping part and will close this issue as resolved.
