Has anyone ran into this problem (explained below) before? Is there a way to break out of Adobe Acrobat which is loaded inside of Internet Explorer ? Any suggestions are appreciated!
ENVIROMENT
I am currently using FormsValidation in .Net 1.0 Framework. The FormsValidation redirects the current page to the login page when a user's FormsValidation cookie expires.
PROBLEM
My problem occurs when a user (who's FormsValidation cookie has expired) refreshs a page that is currently using Adobe Acrobat Reader inside Internet Explorer. The user gets the following Adobe Acrobat error - "File does not begin wiht '%PDF-'."
Also, to make things worse, my page that is a PDF is inside of a pop-up window. I would like to be able to close that window, but the tradional javascript code - "window.close();" does not work, I assume this is because it can not close Adobe Acrobat.
CAUSE
When the user refreshs the page, FormsValidation redirects that page to a aspx page (Logon.aspx) and when Adobe Acrobat loads this page, it does not know how to handle the aspx code since it is expecting PDF code.
