Thank you to everyone that has responded so far. I appreciate your input. A couple of answers to the questions that have come in. Our application runs on standard desktop PCs. The users will select that wish to e-mail a report, or reports. The report, or reports, is printed to the Adobe driver, in the past this was PDFWriter though in Acrobat 6.0 it is Adobe PDF. We currently have over 100 reports that we send out as PDFs, Turning off the prompt for file name is located on the properties tab for the Adobe PDF printer. It is located on the General tab, Printing Preferences. I am able, via code, to switch to any printer loaded on the machine. For PDF creation, we switch to Adobe PDF printer in Adobe 6.0, where in earlier versions of Acrobat we switched to PDFWriter. Really all I need is to be able to set a default directory and file name for the PDFs create. Thanks for your assistance. Given that PDFWriter is no longer part of Acrobat 6, I don't understand how you are doing that? With the new Adobe PDF printer?? >My software does change the printers without a hitch. There is no programmatic control of the Adobe PDF printer beyond what is provided by the OS. You need to print to a Postscript file, then send that PS file to Distiller for PDF creation. >I have looked at AdobePDFMakerX.dll but I am not sure if it is the >right tools to use and I have not been able to find any reference >info on it.
