This is simple if your user is only to add text at fixed locations. Simply add form fields to the file. The user can then save their changes. You should display in the Acrobat window, everything is taken care of, no need for developer tools - neither supported nor (like pdf.ocx) unsupported. Bear in mind that this cannot work with Acrobat Reader, since it will not save form changes.
