I have a problem with an application running in IIS that is using the
FDF toolkit (v5) to read an FDF and then format an email message. Our
test case uses a somewhat large FDF file (~20k), and trying to process
~5/second. We see that the CPU spikes very high when it starts the test
case, and very quickly kills the IIS server.

We're looking for options on how I could resolve this. I'm considering
rewriting the application in Java using the Java version of the toolkit,
and deploying it as a servlet on either iPlanet, Tomcat, or WebLogic.
We're considering plugging in the version 6 FDF toolkit dll. We're also
considering adding another server as a load-balanced pair (it currently
is just one web server).

I would appreciate any ideas, either about the ones I'm considering, or
ones I haven't thought of.
