Read the Type 1 Font Format specification - in outline, about
file formats. You need to know what is meant by "encrypted
portion" as referenced in table 5.23 (3rd edition).

If the files you have are PFB you will also need to know the
PFB file format, NOT described in the Type 1 Font Format
specification, to strip out control words.

If the files are PFA, you should turn the encrypted portion
from hex to binary.
