Hi,

trying to open a read only document results in a permission denied error. I
agree that for pdfEDIT write permission is needed most of the time. Anyway you
still should be able to open a document in case you only have to look up
something. A warning while opening would be okay, or an error message if you
try to save.

I've closed pdfedit, changed the permission (via konquerer) and for some
documents it took quite some time until I could open them after restarting
pdfedit. Don't know if pdfedit left some information in memory or if KDE caches
the permission info. Very hard to reproduce....

Thanks!
