This is definitely a bug. The document you have provided (and I can reproduce that with others too) has rotated pages - the first page is rotated by 270 degrees - and the added text is added with in the coordinating system without rotation (PDF calls it user space). I have reported that as http://pdfedit.petricek.net/bt/view.php?id=369, but unfortunatelly I have no idea how to fix this.
