Hi,

I have got from our accountant this file generated by some Windows
accounting software. Unfortunately when opened in Evince there are some
pieces of text which are not shown and text is not completely legible
(the same goes for gs).

The file is available on
http://luther.ceplovi.cz/dav/PCF%20%C3%BA%C4%8Dtov%C3%BD%20rozvrh%20dopln%C4%9Bn%C3%AD-%20code%20682041.pdf

My colleague, who is one of maintainers dealing with Evince and poppler
(and who is on CC of this message) told me about the reasons why this
doesn't work correctly

The problem seems to be that poppler is getting a Type1 font
from fontconfig but the PDF asks for CID TrueType.

And apparently he cannot find a way how to workaround this well.

Another interesting piece of information is that LibreOffice Draw can
open the file and display all characters, albeit with a little bit wrong
metric (characters are bit shifted).

I wondered whether pdfedit would be able to somehow edit metadata in the
file and substitute some useful fonts for the one which are there now.
Of course, scripted solution would be even better.

When opening the file in pdfedit, some encoding (which is apparently
something Windowsy in the file) is wrong.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for any reply,

Matěj Cepl
