I've watched (and bought) a bunch of pentax stuff over the last 18 months
on ebay. It helps to know the merchandise and recognize things that don't exist.
As a reminder of that I keep a set of 'Kenko AF extension tubes' on my desk
just so I don't forget. They are a nice set of tubes, and have AF factory engraved on
them bigger than life. I
don't know what AF means to Kenko, but if you think that
means the tubes have a little cam in them to drive an Auto Focus lens, I'll sell you
some tubes.
They do have the necessary ball bearing contacts for the 'A' lenses, however,
and since that is that is the type of macro lens I have, it isn't a big deal. Likewise
with all the FA macro lenses extending to 1:1, tubes don't need to be on the top shelf
of your camera bag anyway if
you have an FA macro.
These nifty new long focal length macro lenses look interesting, but
my AF080 ring light would not approve, as it expects a 49mm filter ring.
Of couse the "A" part is mostly a waste of effort too, because pretty much the first
think I do when I have tubes on is to crank the lens off of program mode so I can
manually manage the depth of field.
