Pentax wide angle lenss

Happy New Year all,

It's my understanding that Pentax offered their screw mount 28 mm lens
in two "sizes", with the larger having more glass than the other.

Can someone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of one over the other?

I believe the "larger" one I am looking at is f 3.5. The smaller is a
bit faster.
