Doug, Wow, I must be spaced out from the holidays! The presence of an upgrade path is a good thing and Pentax probably assumes that the upgrade price won't put off any current users due to invested cost in current lenses. The problem of course, is whether the price of the new body for a *new* user will put off a potential convert due to the feature set of similarly (or lower-priced) offerings from the other brands. Myself? I picked up a PZ-1p recently for a price I felt comfortable with and already love the ease of use the controls! No complaints here as the body more than meets my needs! However, I could see myself seeking a new body if the price was right in a few years from now... if anything, I'm glad that Pentax *isn't* busy cranking out new models every year or two, otherwise we'd all be stuck in the feature-set game of trying to keep up with the newest models! Cheers.
