Yep, they are for real :-)
They are 1.7 teleconverters that can be auto-focused by any Pentax AF body, and
will accept non-AF or AF lenses. The camera sees the combo as being an AF lens.
Works best for fast lenses (Pentax says upto 2.8).
Focusing range might be somewhat limited, depending on the focal-length attached.
I use one pretty often to extend my FA* 2.8 200mm.
Optical quality is said to be rather good for a converter, don't expect razor-sharp
corner to corner though ...
