As you imply the TTL light meter will take it into account - of course. Then any
compensation is a matter of personal preference. Reciprocity failure, however, is not
taken into account, but I have never encountered it. In macro photography bracketing
is a good a idea anyway.
All the best!

Aihe: Macro Metering & Exposure Compensation

>I was talking with Mark Dalal earlier today, and he suggested
>that one thing to consider with ambient light macro work is
>the amount of exposure compensation you will need at full
>extension. I thought that if I used a camera with a TTL
>metering system, such as the LX or MX, compensation would not
>be necessary. Since I'll be bracketing a fair amount IAC,
>this might not be much of a consideration on the first project
>or two that I'm doing. But when working with a subject that
>won't allow bracketing, what do I have to be aware of WRT
>exposure compensation even though I'd be using a metered
>camera?
