An intresting web-site.
Barry Thornton's latest book "Edge of Darkness" is
illustrated by pictures taken with a Pentax LX and
Rollei SL66. It also contains a comparison of grain
focus aid's including the "peak" unit's.
His developer DiXactol has just become my standard, it
hold's micro contrast unlike Xtol/ID-11 but does not
have the grain problem of Rodinal, worked best for me
with Tmax 100, Delta400 and FP4+.
On the subject of grain focus aids, its is simple to
test the focus, set the focus, with a extra sheet in
the easel, then make 3 prints, one as is, one with
more sheet(s) packing and one with less or pack the
sheet's under the easel. Compare all 3 prints once
dry.
