>If I wanted to get a 2x magnifier for a ZX-M, would the general 2x that >Pentax sells ($50. @BH) for ZX cameras also fit the M? (The M's viewfinder >is, I think, smaller than the other ZX's....) I have the "Magnifier F" which fits on any Pentax bodies since the M series (MX, ME etc) back in '70s. For K series or earlier, you need something different (can't remember the code). The current model is called "Magnifier FB" I think. From the picture that I have found on the net, I do not see any difference between the F and FB. However, USD50 is way overpriced for this accessory. I bought mind used. >And what does the 2x magnify? The whole viewfinder, including the internal >metering displays? (That would be nice.) No way, it shows the very centre part of the viewfinder only, just a bit bigger than the circle microprisms of the screens. The image quality is acceptable, and only. The "Reconverter A" has larger viewing area and optically better. However, if you use it on split-image screens only, both work pretty well. On plain screens, the Magnifier F is not so great. >Also, it's not like a k-mount. How do I install it in the camera? Is it a >difficult procedure? Just snap in like an eyecup. Fast to access. regards, Alan Chan _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
