I'm not sure you would see any. The problem, as I understand it, is that
slightly underfixed negs will discolor after some unspecified length of
time. Could be a month, could be a century.*

The 'rule' used to be to fix for twice the clearing time, now I hear
recommendations for 3x.

T-grain films take longer to fix than regular films**, and I found (back
when I tested such things) that 5 minutes seemed like a pretty safe
duration with fresh fix. I usually fix 4 or 5 minutes with regular
films.

I usually add another 15 seconds for each roll of film fixed, up to four
rolls per liter of prepared working solution (1:4).

I'm probably being anal.

* there really *aren't* any b+w chemistry experts out there that can
tell you exactly what the outcomes of certain darkroom practices will
be, just 'I tried this and it seemed to work' advice, 'kodak recommends
X' (based on 30 y.o. research), and received wisdom. Heard of any
corporate or university sponsored experiments on b+w technology lately?

** Anchell suggests that sodium thiosulphate fixers (i.e. regular fix)
aren't *capable* of completely fixing t-grain films.
