The lens pictured may be new-in-the-box, but it is is almost an antique.
Somewhere in the early or mid-1980s Pentax produced the ME-F body, with
one of the first (if not the first) auto-focus systems. The lens shown
was designed for that camera, I think the only one. It might be worth
something to a collector of
odd, irrelevant or useless things since, I suspect, not many were sold.
I have never seen one in the wild, only in a shop window way back then.

I doubt that it is a worthwhile purchase for a user. It is big, heavy
and ugly. It has a narrow range for a zoom (these days). I do not know
anything about optical quality. 

The big lump that makes it look like a pregnant hand grenade in the
vertical photo is where it holds batteries, I believe, or maybe the AF
motor, or maybe both, not sure -- haven't seen one of these since it was
a new item.
