It's an easy guess, David.  They were not confident enough
to sell such a expensive camera set with premium. :-)

BTW, I went to downtown today, but could not find a camera
shop dealing with LX2000, new or used.  The one on the
Yahoo Japan Auction, which Jeff pointed out, is priced with
much premium for "rarity".  (The start price is JP\350000,
which is 6% added to the original price, and it does not
reach the reserve price.)

It seems to me that getting a new LX2000 is only
understandable with a reason that it is for collection. 
Anyway, I'll report again if there's any new info about it.
