I remember from one article on Rodinal (in Camera&Darkroom) that few years
ago, a bottle of Rodinal was uncovered in the Antarctic, left over by
Captain Scott expedition in 1912 (sic!), and after examination was found
"as fresh and potent as the day it left the factory". Of course, that's
being stored in a "freezer" ;0 . But Rodinal turning dark brown is normal
in my experience, and should be quite ok. I have developed some films in
very dark brown Rodinal (just a little left in the bottle, for a year) and
it came out ok, but don't count on me ;). Better try it yourself on a
spare film. I still like the acutance Rodinal offers for medium format work.
