Well, I just got me an 1.4x- L today together with the A* 2.8 300mm :-)
The flange to flange distance on that is 28mm, and the part that fits INTO
the mounted-lens is another 20mm.
>From pictures I have from both (on scale) and some math, the flange distance
on the 2x-L must be close to 61mm.
