Why don't you just spray black the front element?! You will never have to
worry about losing a lens cap then ;-) Also perfect for IR photography...
More seriously, what about the plastic models paints from Humbrell, Revell,
etc ;-) I used to paint my mobile phone once with it (it was too gaudy
colored for me. Black's the best, I say ;)
