I quote from Carl Shipman's book on Pentax cameras:
"Clear Button- To the right of the viewfinder eyepiece, a button labeled C
"clears" the camera settings, when pressed.  In the "clear" condition, the
Drive Mode is set to single-frame, Exposure Compensation is zero and the
Self-Timer, if set is canceled.
If the lens Aperture Ring is on A, programmed automatic using the Normal
program is set.  If the Aperture Ring is set to an f-number,
aperture-priortiy is set."
